I feel grateful to be together again in the barn studio and it’s harvest time on the farm, the time when we celebrate all that’s grown and harvested from the land, like this beautiful tomato.

And when the last of the tomatoes are ripe and ready to be picked, we know that it’s time for the special harvest tradition.

I was just telling our friends about our harvest tradition.

Hm, to me, a tradition is a special something that you do again and again the same way every time.

I can remember our harvest tradition exactly the same way ever since I was a kiddo.

Every year we’d gather all of our farm friends for a big feast and the most special food is the potato salad.

You can’t have the harvest tradition without the potato salad.

And before we eat, we sing a very special harvest song and the song is led by a banjo.

Until we hear those banjo strings strum, no one can eat a bite, not even of the potato salad.

I’m so excited I actually put the wish in the wish box today.

>> Hm, well, I know there are some leaves that are green for the whole summer and then turn orange in the fall.

And, you know, it’s still the same leaf, it’s just a little different.

>> I suppose you’re right.

>> And so maybe the harvest song is like that leaf.

It’s been the same for a long time but now it just has to change a little.

>> I could try.

Mister Chris, all the potatoes are rotten.

We can’t eat them.

>> All of them?

>> All of them.

>> Oh, no.

This is terrible.

We’ve had potato salad every year since I was a kiddo.

>> And I’m so sorry about the potatoes.

>> Melissa, all of the potatoes are rotten.

>> Which means we can’t make our special potato salad for the harvest feast tonight.

I understand how important a special dish can be for a traditional meal.

It’s sad and sad things happen sometimes but everything happens for a reason and the only thing we can do is move forward.

>> But what are we gonna do?

>> Oh, Wishing Well’s clue.

When I was with Ethan just now we talked about how a green leaf in the fall turns into an orange leaf and how it’s the same leaf just a little different.

>> I wonder if we can change the main ingredient of our salad, potatoes, for another ingredient.

>> Well, these are all the vegetables that we have from the farm.

>> Okay, so we had chard.

Is chard similar to a potato?

No, not really.

This is like a leafy green, more similar to spinach or lettuce.

So maybe not this one.

Pepper?

Would a pepper work?

Is it similar to a potato?

No, this is more crispy and juicy.

It doesn’t have starch like a potato so not this one.

But how about sweet potato?

Would a sweet potato work?

>> It’s pretty similar.

I think it could work.

It would make our dish a little bit sweeter.
