(bright music) - You know, I think Michigan State's ethos has always been the land grant institution.
Its mission really is to go beyond our borders.
It was created originally to in fact, disseminate knowledge to others in Michigan.
The broadcasts that WKAR have done for a hundred years moved us from the campus to the community.
You know, it really represents a hundred years of education.
Education with impact.
And it creates the opportunities to tell our stories.
It takes our great professors like Joan Rose, who is a water expert and takes her into a living room in Flint, Michigan so that people affected by the water crisis can hear the work that she's doing.
It's such an exciting and accessible way to take what we do here and move it across the entirety of the state of Michigan.
So WKAR is central to that land grant ethos, and that's just something that is really special and something that I'm so proud to be a part of.
